KINTO Share for Uber is a car sharing service that allows you to rent our vehicles to drive and earn in the Greater Vancouver Area.
KINTO Share is proud to offer zero-emission Toyota Mirai and bZ4X vehicles to our KINTO Share members.
To get started with KINTO Share for Rideshare Drivers (BC), you first need to be approved to drive with one of our partnered rideshare and/or delivery providers in British Columbia. If you have not been approved as a driver yet, please apply with one of our listed partners. Once that step is complete, download the KINTO Share Canada app on the App Store or Google Play and start the registration process. You will be asked to scan your driver’s license, validate your email and phone number, agree to our Terms of Use, provide your credit card and answer some basic qualification questions. We will then verify that your driver’s license is valid, authenticate you are an approved rideshare and/or delivery driver and confirm that you meet our eligibility criteria. Once your registration is approved and completed, you’ll be ready to book and drive!
You must meet and maintain at all times the following eligibility criteria to become and remain a KINTO Share member as a driver on the Uber platform.
a) General
Be at least 21 years old
Meet the minimum years of driving experience in your city
Clear a background check from KINTO Share
Valid Class 1, 2, or 4 driver’s licence
b) Traffic Offences
if you are under 26 years of age, have no more than one minor traffic violation (cell phone or distracted driving violations, failure to stop, seatbelt violation) committed within or outside of Canada;
if you are 26 years of age or over, have no more than two minor traffic violations (cell phone or distracted driving violations, failure to stop, seatbelt violation) in the past three years committed within or outside of Canada;
have no major traffic violations (such as speeding between 50 km and 60 km over the speed limit, failure to report an accident, speeding in a school zone) in the past three years within or outside Canada;
have no driving related criminal/serious convictions (such as impaired driving, carrying hazardous substances, driving while licence under suspension, speeding 60km or more over the speed limit) in the past three years
c) Criminal Offences
have no criminal convictions in the last seven years for any of the following:
Violent crime
Felony offence
Drug-related offence
Sexual offence
Theft or property damage offence
Other violations will be evaluated at our sole discretion;
We reserve the right to revoke your KINTO Share membership at any time for any reason, including the suspension of your licence with Uber.
Your KINTO Share application may be paused because your Uber application is pending, or you have not consented to share your information with Uber. Please check your Uber application directly to ensure you're eligible or visit t.uber.com/rentalconsent and accept the Vehicle Solutions data sharing terms. Another suggestion is to check the spam folder of your email associated with your KINTO account for the business code to finalize your account.
Payment can be made by VISA, Mastercard or American Express.
As part of the registration process, you will be asked to provide your credit card details. You can change or remove the payment method at any time under the "Payments & Promos" section in your KINTO Share App. Your credit card will receive a hold charge for the full amount of the estimated cost of your reservation 48 hours before your reservation starts. 1 hour prior to your reservation start time, the hold charge will convert and your credit card will be charged for the full amount of the reservation cost. Once your reservation has ended, any additional fees such as for extra time used or applicable fees and penalties may be charged to your credit card.
At this time, we are not accepting other forms of payment.
Currently the minimum rental period is 1 week and the maximum is 4 weeks.
We have placed Third Party Liability Insurance coverage on the vehicle. An insurance card for each vehicle is provided in the vehicle. Note: if you are insured under an automobile insurance policy and you are involved in a collision or other incident involving the vehicle, under British Columbia law, your automobile policy may provide the primary insurance coverage.
There are no physical keys needed to drive a KINTO Share vehicle. Your smartphone and the KINTO Share Canada app allow for easy keyless entry. To get going, simply walk up to the KINTO Share vehicle and check-in to your reservation using the KINTO Share Canada app. Once check-in is complete, connect to the vehicle and you’ll be able to lock/unlock the doors as well as start your vehicle. It’s easy and convenient.
We support iOS and Android devices. You’ll also need to have Data and Bluetooth enabled on your device. Please refer to the individual iOS and Android app pages for more information:

The maximum range of the 2024 Toyota Mirai is 600 kms, the 2023 Toyota bZ4X LE FWD is 406 kms, and the 2023 Toyota bZ4X XLE AWD is 367 kms as per the Government of Canada Test Measurements. Individual range may vary based on driving habits and other factors.
When the fuel cell system is stopped, water is automatically purged from the tailpipe. To minimize water accumulation in parking garages, for example, purge can be done manually before parking by pressing the “H2O” button located on the left side of the dashboard. Note that the “READY” indicator on the dashboard must be ON.
The 2024 Toyota Mirai and 2023 Toyota bZ4X both support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
KINTO Share is designed to be self-serve with no rental desks or physical keys required to access the vehicles.
Your smartphone and the KINTO Share app allow for easy keyless entry. Exchange Information
If your accident involves another vehicle, please exchange information with the other driver. Photographing and writing down their information is recommended. Please capture the following info:
Other driver’s name and driver licence number.
Other vehicle’s licence plate number, make, model, and year.
Insurance policy number.
Accident Information
If there are witnesses, record their names and contact information.
Take photos of the crash scene and all vehicles involved. Make sure to capture the vehicle damage and licence plates.
Detail the crash scene:
What was the date, time, and location?
What direction were each of you travelling?
What was your vehicle and what lane were you using?
Where was the other vehicle and what lane was it in?
Did the accident occur during an Uber trip?

After collecting all the above information please call Roadside Assistance at 1-888-869-6828
Let the agent know you’re driving a KINTO Share vehicle and follow their instructions.
Roadside Assistance will assist in recovering the vehicle from the accident site.

Once you’ve gone through all the steps above, please report the incident to ICBC, Uber, and KINTO Share using the information collected.

Credit card information can be changed in the KINTO Share Canada app under “Payments & Promos”; however, a default credit card is required and can be changed but not deleted.
A customers email and/or phone number can only be changed with the help of the KINTO Share Canada Support Team. Please send an email to help@kintoshare.ca containing the email address associated with your account, your phone number, your driver’s license expiration date, along with the information you would like to change.
Once your reservation is completed, you will receive an invoice and confirmation of your payment by email.
If you believe there is an error on your invoice, please notify the KINTO Share team at help@kintoshare.ca.
After your KINTO Share account is created, it will be verified and a business code will be sent to your email. Your account will be automatically linked within two business days if you're a confirmed Uber driver and have access to Uber Marketplace. Add the business code to your KINTO Share account by going to "Settings" and select "Uber Driver" under Business Entities to fully register your account. You are now able to create reservations through the KINTO Share app as an Uber driver.
If you have not received a business code within 48 business hours, please ensure you have agreed to the Uber Vehicle Solutions data sharing terms at t.uber.com/rentalconsent.
If you would like to register for KINTO Share while you are waiting for your permanent driver's license you can reach out to our customer support email, help@kintoshare.ca.
In that email, please provide a scan of your temporary driver's license and valid proof of identification (must include photo and address).
KINTO Share vehicles are not allowed outside of Canada. These vehicles may not be taken to the USA.
Charging a Toyota bZ4X is similar to filling up a gasoline vehicle. Insert the connector into the car; there will be a click sound, and the indicator light above the inlet will be green.
CHARGING TYPES
The charging process may vary slightly, as there are different types of charging equipment and power sources that you may use.
KINTO provides a Level 1 charging cable to plug into a standard 120-volt wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord with the Level 1 charger cable.
Level 2 charging operates at 240 volts, similar to Level 1 charging. To charge with a level 2, utilize the top inlet.
Level 3 charging, also known as DC Fast Charging, will utilize the lower inlet. Note that DC Fast Charging should be limited to two daily charging cycles (Low Light to 80%).
Level 2 and 3 chargers are available in public areas and can be found in ChargePoint, Flo, and EV Connect.

Rental start times cannot be changed, we recommend cancelling your original reservation and creating a second rental with the correct start time.
If you cancel over 48 hours before your reservation start time there is no cancellation fee. However, if you cancel within 48 hours of your start time a cancellation fee will be charged to your credit card. Please refer to the Terms of Use for more information.

Yes, the KINTO Share Canada bZ4X comes with a Level 1 charging cable. It is located within a compartment under the floor of the trunk. However, we recommend you utilize local Level 2 or Level 3 chargers as they provide a much quicker charging experience.
